Healthy Homemade Dog Food
In the same way as we have become more aware of our own diets and the effect it is having on our health, so I have become more concerned about the effect the food I feed them has on my dog’s health. With this in mind we are increasingly examining options for healthy homemade dog food recipes in our house.
There is no doubt about it when we do prepare a concoction of rice, vegetables and meat our two spaniels go crazy for it.
For this reason the video below caught my eye and I will be examining the book it refers to in a lot more detail of the coming weeks and months. The video is by a guy who normally focusses on healthy living and healthy body activities for humans. But he also clearly loves his dog and is concerned to ensure that he has a healthy dog.
It is interesting that he refers to the increase in serious diseases in dogs in recent years since we have been feeding them more and more standard processed food.
So lets recap on that Health Homemade Dog Food Recipe;
- Oats
- Chopped Chicken
- Raw vegetables
- steamed bone meal
- soy sauce or salt
- vegetable oil
- the special ‘healthy powder
- Garlic (good for ticks apparently – I didn’t know that).
Cook up as required and mix together. Make it in batch and keep some for tomorrow and freeze more for later in the week.
